Okay, okay, OKAY already...

So I had no intention of blogging.

Not this season.

I mean, I had the intention but things got busy and life got busy and besides, those damn audition shows GET ON MY NERVES what with all the sad crazy folk out there who think they can sing and then get on TV and get made fools of. It makes me sad, those people with their delusions. Because, hey, I like to sing as much as the next person -- in the shower. But even I can hear how bad I sound. And if I couldn't hear it, at least my family loves me enough to not let me go on believing I'm Whitney when I am clearly not. But these people...clearly, they have no one who loves them. Because there they are on the TV screen, howling like cats and acting all shocked when Simon yells at them.

Which is a long way of saying, I had decided that my love affair with AI was over.

AI and I were getting a divorce.

But I couldn't stop sneaking a peek at the Tivo every once in a while to see what was going down. And so it happened.

What always freaking happens.

THIS STUPID SHOW HOOKED ME AGAIN!!!

Tonight was...well, the word for the night is "adorable." Yep, adorable. Why? Three names -- Lisa, Paris and Katherine. Could there be three girls on the planet more made for this competition?

I. Don't. Think. So.

Two of them are barely out of diapers at 16 and one is barely legal at 21. And they sing so good. They sing so good that they make up for last season. Remember the Diva Season? With the three divas who could SANG? Remember Fantasia? Remember the good old days?

These girls were better than the good old days. Mainly because they were so adorable that I wanted to wrap them up like presents and take them home. Plus, they had talent.

Thank the Gods for talent.

Now, y'all know there were some bad performances tonight too. What was up with the chick who thought she was a rocker? Why was she there? Was she there because Randy and Simon thought she was hot? Because pretty don't reach the ears, people. Becky needs to go be on America's Next Top Model and leave us alone. That's my career advice for the night.

I am more excited for the men tomorrow. Y'all, I'm in love with the gray haired boy. IN LOVE. Taylor Hicks is my new pretend husband. He's so Ray Charles meets crazy country boy. I adore him. ADORE. LOVE. ADORE.

Okay, let me calm myself.

I also have a crazy country boy thang for Bucky Covington. How can you not love that boy? He's all "y'all" and "ev'body" and "yessir". Then he opens his mouth and becomes better than every country star I've ever seen. He rocks. He rolls. He makes me forget I hate country music.

Okay. I'm hooked again. The divorce is off.

AI + Shonda 4ever TLA.

What did y'all think?

just 3 things - - -
1-Damn we're glad you're back!
2-White men can't jump and white girls can't sing (except for Kathaleen who's got some soul).
3-Can't WAIT for the boys tomorrow night and you're right - the grey hair boy is fabulous.

Surprisingly, Simon gave super-hot Maxim-babe Rebecca the big N-O in the auditions and I think he had reservations about putting her in the top 24. Given his propensity for putting pretty girls who can sing though, I was surprised at how bad he thinks she is and still lets her go on.

Glad to see you're back in the AI fold, Shonda.

You're 100% correct, those three were the best. Some of those girls last night hurt my ears, how the heck did they make it so far?? What were Simon and Randy thinking?? As far as Taylor, I'm with you on that one. He's so....good and quirky, I can't see how he won't make it to the final 12. You know though, Simon hates him - he hates him to the core he does. Why is that?? Anyways, glad the divorce is off - divorce is never a pretty thing - lol.

my one thought about mon night.
i'm nervous about paris.
she was way shaky.
cuteness and energy and showtime made it less noticed. to me, that was her worst performance. hope she pulls it together cause when she's on i think she the best

Thank heaven for little rants - and those talented gals of A I 5- you know the ones - you picked em already.

Welcome back - so looking forward to youse twos wit and energy.

and my favorite Idol redhead aka Lisa Leuschner is about to release her CD for real finally at last and I am so glad they dropped the wild card system after the way they dropped Lisa on her head and prevented America from voting her into stardom- and this 12 boys and 12 girls to whittle it on down does give em that balance they strive for -

enjoy!!! and lets hope the grayhead can bring it tonite! he is my favorite guy this season too.

I'm feeling you, Shonda. Let me tell you how good this show is. I auditioned for this season in Boston. I always knew that it was a t.v. show and not a "real" singing competition. But, it still pissed me off when I didn't get past the first screeners. (I don't mean to be conceited, but I'll just say that I'm not a shower singer. I've been on some pretty big stages, and held my own.) It pissed me off even more when they didn't take ANY of the more than 20 singers that I knew and had performed with, who were all as good if not better than me. I knew what I was getting into; but this still made me very jaded about the show. So, I had every intention of boycotting this year.

But then the commercials started coming like one in every five while I was watching "House" and "24" and the jones came back. So they sucked me in to the audition episode, which I watched in utter disgust, until.......

THAT LITTLE GIRL PARIS SANG HER BEHIND OFF!!! My wife and I almost cried we were so excited. Then Lisa came. Then Katherine. Then Ray Char...I mean Taylor Hicks. Then the Brittenum twins made me embarassed to be a black man. Then Mandisa made Simon act like a human being for once. I mean, the producers of this show are geniuses. I care more about this "characters" than I have ever cared before. This is the greatest show ever.

I totally agree, this year AI is going to kick butt! Along with the 3 girls you mentioned I also like Mandisa. I think the best thing for them to do is have 3 girls and 9 guys. I love reading your thoughts, keep on blogging!

The girls were good, but man the guys were HOT!!! Hope Ace doesn't turn into a Constatine because I see he has some Connie tendencies. Taylor is my pick to win it all at this point...and I've been such a Paris fan up till this point.

Keep on blogging...I'm so glad you're hooked because AI wouldn't half as good without you two!

I'm so glad y'all are back bloggin'. I would have to give up on AI if you stopped.

Recap - Of course you are right on with the woman. Lisa, Katharine and Paris have to be the favorites right now. A notch below is the Ayla (the basketball player) and Madisa (love her personality). I also have falling in love with Pickler....she is just the cutest...too bad she does not have the pipes to go alone with the cuteness.

The 2 girls who should go home tonight are Kinnik...Simon summed it up...why take an ok 28 year old when there is 16 year olds that are better. Stevie - sorry AI is not ready for Opera. Plus your singing is not that good for opera.

Guys - Ace is a better looking Constantine with more talent. He is going to be tough to beat. My personal favorites are Chris and Taylor.

Who should be going home...Bobby - that is a no brainer. Bucky - they put you in the competition to sing country not country rock...Chris made you look worse then you really were.

Overall I thought this is the best 24 they have put together. There were very few "you gotta go" in the group.

My top 6 right now is
Girls
Lisa, Katharine, Paris, Ayla, Madisa and Kellie (on personality only)

On the bubble Melissa. You sing better than Kellie but it is hard to remember you.

Guys
Ace, Chris, Taylor, Elliot, Patrick, Sway (liked his guts picking that Earth, Wind and Fire song)

On the bubble - Gedeon (not sure if you can sing)...shout is pretty easy song to sing but you were entertaining.

Please note the above is subject to change.

Oh Oh Oh!!! My life now can be complete, THANK GOD YOU ARE BACK!!! I just about pee'd my pants seeing that you posted!!! Okay, enough of that.

I can't get enough of Lisa, Paris, and Katherine (sp?). BUT, and that is a bigger but then my own ( AND I HAVE A BOOTY)...my heart for some odd reason is with Kelly Pickler. Why? I don't know. No she's not a great singer, but she has had no training, and with no training she is still good, not great but she can however become great with this experience. THIS DAMN SHOW AND THEIR BACK GROUND STORIES, THEY GET ME EVERY TIME. DAMN THEM!!!

I as you was not going to watch this season. But I kept hitting the recall button on the remote just to see what was going on. And YES I'M HOOKED. I HATE BEING HOOKED TO ANYTHING!

Okay the boys....let me just say this....Taylor has my heart. He's had my heart since his audition. MAN O MAN. No I'm not saying he's hot...he is just so well so damn down to earth. He doesn't know he is going to be something (if he does then he doesn't show it). He is the George of this Season.

And ohhhhhh ooohhhhhh Ace....OH MY GOD, that's all i can say OH MY GOD. He may not sing as well as the others, and i have to admit when he stated he was going to sing a George Michael song I almost chocked on my crackers!!! But THAT BOY IS DAMN FINE!!! He is deffiantly NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING like Connie. OH HOW I DESPISED CONNIE!!!! I however can not DESPISE Ace...NOPE NOPE NOPE.

Jose...um....Jose....Um....yeah well that's my feelings on him.

Well That's is my comments for now. Beware that Jaded is back, and I will put up a fight for my favorites (once i figure out who the hell they are going to be!!)
